We Are Kidney Donors!

Sisters Sarah and Patricia are both kidney donors! In 2002 Sarah donated her kidney to her stepdad who was on dialysis daily and in desperate need of a lifesaving transplant. Sixteen years later, the same surgeon took out Patricia’s kidney which was sent to a stranger in Houston, starting a kidney donation chain. They’re both passionate about living donation advocacy and volunteer with multiple organizations with the mission of raising awareness for living organ donation.

Learn About Patty's Work With NKDO

Patty works as a peer mentor for potential donors and helps grow “One Kidney Club” communities all over the world. She finds gathering donors together helps raise awareness and normalizes talking about being a donor.

Patty has been featured in multiple stories related to her donation to a stranger. She thinks it’s important to show that she lives a very active life after donation and she is proud to work with organizations like Kidney Donor Athletes.
